In my weekend notes, I highlighted the bearish signals stemming from index-related ETFs, and right on cue, we gapped down at Futures open just minutes before the Super Bowl.

It seems the tariffs chatter is losing traction for the pre-market session, despite headlines continuing to drop throughout the weekend.

This doesn’t change the overall bearish outlook for the week. We anticipate some kind of reaction that could lead to a retest of 6000 $SPX, and potentially a break below that level.

CPI is on tap for Wednesday, and tomorrow, we’ve got JPow speaking right after the opening bell.
