Options fundamentals — a series

There are many ways to play the grand casino that is the stock market. In intentional playing, a player has to prepare for a match. In this case, there are also several ways one can prepare for the 9:30 am to 4 pm ET slaughter-fest that takes place every business day. There are commonly two types of players in this game: the fundamentalists and the technicians.

Fundamentalists study companies deeply through their internals to try and determine stocks' fair value. Technicians look at charts to create their strategies and next moves. There is also a third type of player on the field: the quant. Quants differ from the other analysts because they create assumptions and trades based primarily on mathematical equations and models.
